Fading Older Tattoos in Preparation for a Cover-up Tattoo (Example 3 of 3)
(All photos are of actual Tattoo Removal Laser Clinic® clients)
If you are interested in replacing or covering up an existing tattoo with another tattoo, it's good to know that the cover-up will be much more successful when the existing tattoo is first faded out through the tattoo removal process. Fading the old tattoo will give the tattoo artist a better 'canvas' to work on and much more flexibility with the new design, as the old design won't be showing through. Below is the third of three photo sequences displaying examples of the fading process.

Before Treatment: The client desired to fade out an existing tattoo before getting a cover up tattoo. Fading the old tattoo first will give much more pleasing results with the cover up tattoo. This sequence shows the progress of the removal/fading process. |

After Laser Treatments: The previous tattoo is not noticiable at all. If it had not been faded first, the old tattoo would have shown through the new design. |
